Seawater desalination plant (SWRO)

Seawater reverse osmosis system (SWRO) Desalination refers to the technology and process of obtaining fresh water from seawater. There are many types of desalination technologies, including distillation, membrane (reverse osmosis, electrodialysis membrane evaporation, etc.), ion exchange, etc., but only distillation and reverse osmosis are suitable for large-scale desalination. Seawater reverse osmosis equipment is a device that uses the principle of a semi-permeable membrane to separate salt and other impurities from water in seawater under pressure, thereby achieving seawater desalination.

Specification

Working principle 

When seawater enters the filter, water molecules pass through the reverse osmosis membrane under pressure, while impurities such as salt, organic matter, and bacteria are retained, thereby achieving water purification.

Operation conditions

Based on the stable and safe operation of the reverse osmosis system, the following water inlet requirements (water outlet requirements for pretreatment equipment) are proposed:
(1) Pollution index SDI: ≤5
(2) Residual chlorine <0.1mg/1 (OT method)
(3) Oxygen consumption <2mg/1 (Mn method)
(4) Turbidity <1.0 NTU
(5) Concentrated water LSI<0
(6) Water temperature range <35℃
